     Of course, because Emerson talks about Nature. 
Thoreau talked with and looked up to the guy, too. 
Thoreau's living philosophy mentions the need for a
American philosophy, and Thoreau, as well as Emerson I
believe, discussed the European (Thoreau's Concordians
loving Paris things and news) and the Amerindian
living without fences found in Walden Pond (and other
topics thoroughly discussed also in 'Maine Woods'
where Thoreau followed a Amerindian guide) and how
these two ways merge in a unique U.S. lifestyle
(Pirsig's boating west to east and eventually south on
the Hudson).  Emerson discussed Man and Nature (that
may have been a title to one of his books, too).
