Bobby and Group.

No sooner had I sent my first response to your story before the rest
appears. Very well, here is my commentary to the last instalment.

The MF has lacked interesting topics of late. I hope someone has
a really subtle one for December.

Intelligence [= Power of perceiving, learning, understanding and
knowing] and Intellect [= Power of reasoning in contrast to feeling
and instinct] are both loaded to the plimsoll mark with SOM
content which must be shifted before the MOQ load can be
installed. I am not saying that you haven't done that, it's just my
opening "sermon" :-)

There is a tendency to relegate some otherworldly qualities to
Intellect/Intelligence, but the MOQ takes it down several pegs.
The "Intellectual Level" (Q-Intellect) is merely a value out of the
social level which in turn is out of ....etc. Admittedly more valuable
than social "truth", but not impervious to even higher moral
developments..

An aside: Many believe that to imagine unseen things is "thinking",
but I am sure that a dog twitching in his dreams sees a cat and a
whole world, and that he may do that in his day-dreams too. This
may be called "intelligence" (power of perceiving and learning...),
but being aware that the the dream cat is mind/ SUBJECTIVE and
the neighbour cat is matter/OBJECTIVE ....is "intellect" (power of
reasoning) or the intellectual level. But to reach that level requires
the Social stepping stone.

They are identical for all practical purposes.

YES!! All static levels come into conflict with the moral force (DQ).
This has created the Q-levels. S/O-intelligence its latest product.

At the Intellectual level the creative process takes on a "rational"
form, but the process is no less creative at the Inorganic level and
the moral force no less present.

Yes, in the MOQ emotions are out of the "subjective" closet and
recognized as a separate value realm. In my opinion they are the
(creative process) of the Social level.

At the Intellectual level the right path is as you say above, but
"intelligence" is a STATIC manifest and will necessarily come in
conflict with the Dynamic "moral force" (see footnote*).

> MORALS ARE WHERE THE GOOD AND THE TRUE MEET.

All static levels are good, but the higher is the best. The Intellectual
level is the value of distinguishing what is objective from what is
subjective and is called TRUTH seen from inside Intellect, but
viewed from the MOQ it is another static latch.

IMO, but I could be wrong.
Thanks for reading
Bo

* Footnote.
Intelligence!!!!!! S/O makes this term into something absolute. That
for instance a machine suddenly can possess an "artificial" such.
By this we see that Intelligence has become synonymous with self-
awareness/consciousness and we are deep into S/O, and I wonder
dear Bobby if you put it into some category a par with - even above
- Quality?. If so you have made a "Metaphysics of Intelligence"
(MOI) which is possible along with one of Meaning, of Language, of
Significance (Peirce) or of ......(I no longer remember all
suggestions), but all these are just aping Pirsig an introduces
nothing new. QUALITY is the BEST!
