all reasonable people, Now we all look forward to JoVo's insights , meanwhile i feel compelled to continue with my story about my own reason in order to complete the picture i am trying to paint. In my childhood, i was fascinated with science and particlarly technology and i read most science fiction books, my favourite being A.C. Clarke and the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey literally blew me into a strange experience and also led to my interest in artificial intellegence and i often wondered if it was possible to construct a machine that far exceeded human intellegence. ( I believed that the purpose of existence was to discover all the laws of science. What else could it be ? said my reason.) Now just that possibility was staggering , which ment that all scintific and technological problems could be solved in no time at all, it ment unlimited power, i thought , an end to all human problems and suffering ! What a joke that seems to be in hindsight, now that 2001 is just around the corner ! Reality is far far more staggering ! How little we know about nature and about ourselves ! How moronic it is to think that we can conquer nature with laws of science and then destroy it with technology and then GET AWAY WITH IT to move on to other planets to keep doing this and meanwhile entertain ourselves with Star Wars enroute. Even primitive man was not this stupid ! But our Reason is convinced otherwise, because what a great thing science and technology is ! How easy our lives have become ! And we have faith that every problem can be solved with technology because there is no proof otherwise ! So who gives a s*** about morals ? Ain't got nothing to do with science and technology, pal.
