Personally, I;ve always treated Quality as the absolute(spiritual,
religious, mystic). In ZMM, Pirsig realises what he has (re)uncovered and
immediately tests this hypothesis by substituting Quality for Tao(absolute)
in Lao Tze's Tao te Ching. I always thought that it would be interesting
to compare Quality with absolutes in other traditions(i.e. tao, brahmin)
and see if we can in some way equate these. I think the concept of Quality
could gain a lot through this.
