Hello Squad! (difficulty in letting go of static pattern here)
I believe the fifth level will be some kind of expansion of consciousness. I
can't be more specific than that, but I believe some people have already
tapped into it.
Intellect as we know it today is just a small fragment, IMO, of the hidden
capacity of consciousness.
The Global Brain and the Giant are very similar. Most of us are content to
live our lives by Society's rules. Only a handful of philosophical people
know about the "Giant" concept. The average person shrugs off concepts like
that. You are crazy if you say there is something profoundly wrong with
Society, especially American Society. The attitude is, shut up and be happy.
After all, you're free. Sure.
As Biological creatures we depend on Inorganic material to give us shelter
and clothing and vehicles and computers, and we depend on our Intellect to
tell us how. So the relationship between Biology-Inorganic-Intellect is
essential to survival. The link between these three levels is clear.
Society's role as a level isn't clear. It makes life easier, but we could
survive without it. (This ties in with the 5th level idea, so bear with me,
Diana.)
Just as Biological creatures depend on Inorganic materials to survive, so
does Society. The economy. Money. Gold, silver, paper, whatever. The point
is, money is utterly Inorganic. Our Intellect created the false idea that
this Inorganic material we call money is valuable. Money is the blood of
Society. Society bleeds to death without it.
Maggie discussed leadership. Whether it's by an individual, a group, or an
idea, they can all be harmful. The very idea that we should attach such great
value to Inorganic pieces of paper (or even gold) is barbaric. It hinders the
growth of the human spirit.
Intellect seems to be an employee of Biology and Society. It's a lifelong
employee of Biology, so take care of your body. I think it's a lifelong
employee of Society as well, and I think there is something unnatural about
this. Because if Intellect is an employee of Society, then Intellect is
therefore also an employee of money. Money, an Inorganic material that we
have hypnotized ourselves into believing is valuable, as valuable as oxygen,
and that we should spend our entire lives trying to get as much as we can.
Something is wrong with this picture.
Think about it. We use our Intellect primarily to handle our Biological
business affairs and our Social business affairs. Intellect is too often
simply an errand boy for Biology and Society. Only rarely, when our work
(Biological and Social) is done for the day, does the Intellect have time to
indulge itself. And most of the time, rather than indulge our Intellect, we'd
prefer to indulge in Biological and Social pleasures. So Intellect has a long
way to climb up the Quality ladder.
An insightful poster this month said the 5th level may be our own
destruction, and mentioned something about rubbing our noses in our own
stupidity (stupidity IMO equals applying false value to Inorganic money). I
think he is right, but it won't be Biological destruction, it will be the
cutting of the wrists of Society. The end of money. Society can survive
without money. Don't get me wrong, I think Society is high Quality. The
blood/poison it calls money is not. As long as billions of people spend their
lives chasing after this empty concept (the idea of money has admittedly
united us, but is it a *good* idea?), growth toward the 5th level will be
hindered.
Having said that, I believe the fifth level is to be found in the category
commonly referred to as "New Age." As other posters have pointed out,
meditation, trances, and astral projection are all gaining popularity and new
consideration. We need to keep an open mind above all else.
