Fellow Foci
It started as a discussion of what was the "crystal seed" of the
MOQ: the teepee peyote ceremony (David Buchanan) or the
Chicago incident with Ph. holed up in his bedroom (Mark Lencho)
plus various inbetween views. Now it has ended in a most familiar
pro-con drug fight.

Regarding the first issue I tend to see the said events plus
everyone mentioned as formative for the original Quality idea
(ZAMM), but regarding the MOQ I trend to side with Glenn: it was a
slow series of lesser insights built upon the original one. Not so
impressive, but all the more solid.

Drugs? I guess there has always been and will always be
chemically induced intoxication ...as a relief from the strictures of
society (not the MOQ social level please) but it hardly furthers any
wisdom. Mysticism? Remember that it is the greatest obstacle to
metaphysics ...."Of the two kinds of hostility to metaphysics he
considered the mystics' hostility the most formidable" (LILA p.66)

And metaphysics, the important first perception platform (not the
MOQ intellectual level please) is what we are discussing here..

Wrestling the pen from my hand I stop here.
Bo

but.....
Thanks to Ken for his Indian info. and to Roger for the Entropy copy
I received (I am thinking about it). To Cory for his 'Habitat' story and
to Diana for her "Native European" piece (and for sounding like
Bodvar at times :) and to everybody else for participating.
and...
Tony Wesley. I deleted the original "fish" material, but am
reconstructing it. Soon to come. Thank you.
