Dear Diego,

Immersion has a MicroScan laser sensor system ($16,000.00 USD) for
attachment to their G2 series Microscribes (which run about $6,995 USD
themselves). If you already have a Microscribe, this might be the way
to go. I haven't used it, but it is allegedly very precise and portable
(and for 16k, I'd hope it would be!). You can go to:
http://www.immersion.com/digitizer/products/laser.php to see the specs
for yourself.

    Hello,
I just followed the recent exchange of emails on the Next Engine Laser
scanner. Dean Adams said it worked ok for specimens 5-15cms, but I may
be using smaller skulls, and the resolution it has may be a problem (as
    Pablo pointed out).
Is there any other portable Laser scanner with a better resolution (even if pricier) out there, at least for comparison of pros and cons of price
x resolution? I am still in the 2D era, so I´m completely new to this!
    Thanks for any input
    Diego
