Dear Gabrielle,
as long as you're able to reorganize your raw coordinates so that they can
be imported in PAST (e.g., you could easily do a morphologika to nts to
csv/xls conversion or possibly use MorphoJ for importing/exporting in a
convenient format), you can simultaneously get distances from all pairs of
landmarks by simply selecting the geomet-EDMA option and specifying the
correct (2D or 3D) dimensionality.

Good luck.
Cheers

Andrea

The m_vis and even the alpha version of the new Morpheus et al. (see
http://www.morphometrics.org) can read in the Morphologika files and
spew forth morpheus files that should be readable by the old morpheus et
al, which can be used to compute distances, angles, etc. The "should be"
is there because the export assumes use by the new morpheus et al
programs that have a slightly different format for 2D images and
supports morphologika polygons. If those are not present in the data,
the old morpheus should be able to digest the file just fine and compute
the measures you need. -dslice

Hello all,

I have txt files of 3-d landmarks collected on the prezygapophyses of
primate lumbar vertebrae for use in morphologika2.5. I would like to use
the data for another project by extracting linear distances between the
collected landmarks. It appears from an earlier thread
(http://www.mail-archive.com/morphmet%40morphometrics.org/msg01364.html)
that I may be able to use Morpheus to do so. I am unfamiliar with
Morpheus, and it seems like I might have to reformat files in order to
be supported. I am not familiar with any of the supported formats. Are
there any suggestions for me, someone will very little computer
finagling abilities, on how to reformat morphologika files? Or, is there
an alternative program which supports morphologika files that could make
these linear measurements?

Thanks for your consideration,
