Dear Benjamin

I am aware of the problem and working on a solution. The reason for it is that
from the Monterey version of the macOS operating system, applications without
code signature or notarization by Apple are not permitted to run (on my Mac, I
can’t even start the previous version of MorphoJ any more…). The error message
you get seems to be because the operating systems does not permit MorphoJ to
access the file.

I am working on this, but it is a major change in the process of distributing,
and it will involve my university as well, because the code signing and
notarization will have to use its developer ID with Apple. And in turn that
requires a number of changes of how I do things. So a new release will take a
few weeks at least, I guess.

Best wishes
Chris

Subject: [MORPHMET2] Technical issues with Java and MorphoJ on iOS
Greetings,
I'm having some technical issues with MorphoJ. I'm working on a 13 inch 2017
Macbook with stock components and the Monterey operating system (v12.1). I
just updated my Java (I'm not sure which version), and I am unable to open
previously created MorphoJ files in MorphoJ. When trying to load files that
have previously been on said computer, I keep getting the error message,

"The file does not conform to the format used by MorphoJ
to save projects. Failed reading attached file.
/Users/myname/Desktop/lastname/Folder/Final Thesis Dataset1.morphoj (Operation
not permitted)".

I skipped a few folders, but this is the general gist. MorphoJ has been great
to me, and I've used it the past couple of years. I'm just wondering if the
Javascript has outdated the MorphoJ code, and I have to redo my analysis. I was
already planning on checking my work, but it would be simpler if I could see
what analyses I performed before the Java update. I hope it's just something
simple that I haven't thought of.

Regards

-Moss
