        Dear Morphometricians,

I need help to localize a paper. In Pete Lestrel's book: Fourier
descriptors and their applications in biology, Roger L. Kaestler, in his
contribution (Phase Angles, Harmonic Distance, and the Analysis of
Form), gives p. 125 a reference that could be the first use of Fourier
descriptors in systematic entomology, to describe the contour shapes of
beetles elytra. I cannot manage to find the journal of the reference,
and I believe the reference abbreviation is incorrect. The reference
given by Kaestler is:

Smirnov E. 1927. Mathematische Studien Ãber individuelle und
KongregationenvariabilitÃt. Verhandl. V. Int. Kingr. Verebungswiss. 2,
1373-92.

I believe "Kingr." is likely to be in fact Kongr., for Kongress.
Unfortunately, Roger Kaestler could not help me, and the checking of
paper and electronic databases did not help.

Could someone give me the correct reference, at least the
journal or congress proceeding name?

Thank you for your help. Franck Bameul
