If you're using a Mitutoyo digital caliper, Mitutoyo makes an input  
tool that requires no special drivers for OSX.
I have used the PS/2 input tool with a USB adaptor with OSX, and it  
works fine for sending data to EXCEL.
Apparently they now make a USB input tool, so no adaptor is necessary.
The input cable can be found at paleotech.com.
