Dear morphometricians I am pleased to announce that there will again be a morphometrics course from the University of Manchester, which will be taught over the Web.
The course is intended as a general introduction to morphometrics (mostly geometric) and its applications in biology. The intended audience is anyone interested in morphometric methods from advanced undergraduate level on (it is a final-year undergraduate course here in Manchester). The course will run from 7 November to 16 December 2005. It uses a mix of lecture-style material presented as web pages and interactions among the participants in discussions and small group presentations. I hope it is improved over the trial version from last year (thanks to the comments of last year's participants). Unfortunately, we cannot provide any discounts, regardless of the country of origin of the participants. The fees can be paid by credit or debit card (a form can be obtained from the web site after registration and can be faxed back to our office) or by cheque (for participants from the United Kingdoms only). An on-line registration form is available on the course web page. The deadline for registration and receipt of the fee payment is the 3 October 2005. I apologize for this rather short time period.
