Dear morphometricians,
My name is Sebastian Tello, I am an Ecuatorian starting a Ph.D.
program at Louisiana State University. A major part of my dissertation
is going to deal with the ecology and evolution of size and shape of the
skull of bats in the New World. I am going to start collecting the
information, visiting museums and taking pictures of bat skulls to use
geometric morphometic analyses. Here is were I wanted to know if people
with experience have any recomendations in terms of the digital camera
and lens I should buy to take the pictures. Is there anything I should
try to avoid? What about scanning skull instead of taking pics? How many
replicated pictures (same skull, same view) should I take?
I know these are very general questions, and I aknowledge most of you
must be really busy; however, I would appreciate any
input/advice/recommendation.

Hope all is well, and happy research!

Sebastian
