Thank you Steven,

As I said in my original posting I have not yet fiddled about with a
vista machine so I'm glad you have found a workaround

I did get an e-mail from one colleague who indicated that he was
successful installing morphologika directly under vista and running it
but only when his account had administrator privileges. This is likely
because of a bit of 'heritage' programming that I can't work around
(lost the original c code for some tricky numerical bits!) that demands
access to C: to read and write intermediate files passed between c and
vb components.

So it looks like if you are an administrator you may well succeed,
otherwise you need Virtual PC 2007.

I'll post more when I know more

Subject: Vista/Morphologika Follow-Up

Dear colleagues,

Just some follow-ups on the Morphologika issue.

By using Virtual PC 2007 (a free program from Microsoft), Morphologika 2
is now working without any problem. So thank you, Paul.

One does have to install VPC Additions from the menu in order
drag-and-drop files between the host (Vista) and the guest (XP) screens.
Also, allocate as much ram as you can spare. On newer and faster
systems, there shouldn't be any lag when using VPC.

Just another FYI, tps programs will work in Vista, but the help files
are no longer being supported in Vista.

I haven't had any issues with Morpheus (final-build) or NTSYS, yet...

Steve
