I have been attempting to find a program and/or code that will allow
me to use GM software to calculate a linear distance through multiple
points. In my previous research I used Rohlf's TPS software, but TPS
Dig2 only allows 2-point measurements and does not allow you to save
those to a file easily (at least form what I have tried). I have also
looked at Morphologika and MorphoJ, but again I could not figure out
how to do it. I found a Mathematica notebook that writes code and
calculates distances from a tps file from a GM program, but this is
only written for 2-point measurements as well. My goal is to use this
method to obtain SVL measurements from photographed snakes. While I
can obtain these measurements from ImageJ, I am looking for a way to
streamline the process. I would like to use GM software to place
landmarks along the ventral surface (20-40 landmarks) which can be
placed while I place the landmarks for my shape analysis. I would then
like to be able to tell a program the starting and ending landmarks
(or the whole string), import the landmark file and be able to obtain
and output file with the linear distance measurements for each
individual. Does anyone know of some GM software that can currently do
this or that would be easily modified to do so? Thank you for your
suggestions.
