    Hello Lindsay,
In no way would I suggest that I know more than Drs Slice or Rohlf,
but perhaps I understood your question differently. Maybe you were
asking if it is possible to use a tablet, such as the ones by Wacom,
to do the outline drawing and define landmarks instead of using the
mouse. The answer to that question is yes. I have used tpsdig2 with a
Wacom tablet with no problems. I use an Intuos2, which was one of the
higher end models a few years ago, when I bought it. But any wacom
tablet would do, and probably other brands too, because they are taken
by the OS to be just a mouse. I don't think you can use other things,
like pressure or pen angle, in tpsdig, but I have not had a need for
that. I have used this tablet in WinXP and Vista (yuck!). Have not
tried it in Linux or Mac.

If you are going to be drawing many outlines I would definitely
consider a tablet over using the mouse. My experience was that with
the mouse I ended up drawing too many straight lines and sharp angles.
The tablet made it easier to draw smooth curves. Also, by switching
back and forth between the tablet and a mouse I got less tired during
    the day.

        Hello all,

Does anyone know if tpsDig2 allows the use of a digital tablet to
manually trace outlines? I assume that it would, but am
        checking before
        I buy one.

        Thanks,

        Lindsay
