Hi Robert, I don't have much experience in ImageJ either, but I'm using
a version of TpsDig that allows me to circle muscle areas in skulls
images, and it works pretty great for me! If she's interested I could
try to send you!

Good luck!

A fellow grad student here at Portland State University I having
    trouble with ImageJ:

"I'm trying REALLY hard to use ImageJ to analyze mitochondrial
morphology, and I can't get it to circle areas reliably. If anyone has
used ImageJ a lot and has any helpful hints, that would just be the
    tops. Thanks!"

Unfortunately I don't know anything about this program. Does anyone
have any advice I could forward to her?

    Thanks!

    Robert-
