Dear morphometricians,

First of all I would like to congratulate and thank you for Morphomet, it is a very valuable resource for those of us who are taking the first steps in the field of morphometrics.

I'm studying variation in voles' teeth whith the Elliptic Fourier method. I'm sampling outlines in TPSDig and analyzing them in PAST. I have two measures of outline area: one that is given by TPSDig when I select ""Save curve area" (and is the same that I get in GMTP when I use "Compute/Area") and the second one is calculated by PAST when I use "Geomet/Elliptic Fourier 2D" (and is the same that I get in EFA). I believe that one is the actual area of the tooth (enclosed in the outline) and the other is the area of the ellipse described by the first harmonic, but I can't be sure. Could someone please clarify this for me?

Thanks,
Rodrigo
