Dear Edgar,
geometric morphometrics can be, at the beginning, a bit difficult to
grasp if you don't read something easy to understand. However,
normally it takes a bit more than a "step by step" pdf to grasp some
of the concepts and understand what's going on "under the hood" in
your favourite morphometric software.

Two good introductory journal articles are:
- Adams et al 2004 (Italian Journal of Zoology - freely available at
http://life.bio.sunysb.edu/morph/review/review.html )
- Viscosi & Cardini 2011 (Plos One - open access at
http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0025630
)

Then you could also get the book by Zelditch et al. 2004 - Geometric
Morphometrics for Biologists: a Primer

At that point understanding the analyses presented in papers or
discussed here should be much easier and you can move from there.

Just my two cents...
Carmelo
