Subject: Polyworks & NextEngine
To: "morphmet@morphometrics.org" <morphmet@morphometrics.org>

Hi All,

I cannot seem to get Polyworks to open NextEngine (ScanStudio) .ply files. It doesn’t matter whether I save them as binary or ascii .ply files from the ScanStudio software. Has anyone found a way around this? I did find that if I opened the ScanStudio .ply files in GeoMagicStudio and re-saved them – Polyworks would then open them. But doing so for the 700+ scans isn’t very efficient. I could save them as .obj files, but then I’d lose all the texture information (and for all the scans I’ve already collected, it would again mean opening and re-saving them all).

Any suggestions?
