Landmark Editor HELP!!!

Hi,
I have downloaded Landmark Editor from the UC Davis web site and read the manual downloaded from the same site. However, the program shuts down while in the process of loading the files into the A or B panes. It registers the files in the Database contents pane, but when I try to load the images into the A or B panes by clicking on “Project” and then “load into A” , the program apparently stops working properly and Windows shuts it down. My images are in PLY format. I am using Windows 7 on a 64 bit computer with loads of hard drive space and plenty of processing speed (16.0 RAM; Intel® Core™ i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz). Any advice would be much appreciated.
