Dear Carlos,

Thank you for choosing to use Geomorph. Please take a look at the revised helpfiles for the 3D digitizing routines in version 1.1-5. These should be more explicit in how to digitize.

To answer your question, I shall briefly explain how to digitize. The way to choose landmarks in the rgl window is by clicking with the right button and dragging a small rectangle over the vertex to be used as the landmark. Note that when the screen goes blank, this is because no vertex has been selected. If this happens, you must type N and try again. Typing y will try to store a vertex without coordinate information and will result in the error you gave.

Hope that helps. Please email me directly if you need further assistance,

Emma

Subject: Geomorph surface disappears when digitizing

Dear morphometricians,

I have been working with geomorph running GPA and allometry analyses on 2D data, nevertheless I have been trying to digitize landmarks on a 3D surface but when I select the first landmark, the specimens just vanishes, R asks me if I want to keep the landmarks so I press y and it waits for me to select a second landmark (in the blank device), but when I (randomly) select a second landmark I get this message:

Error in rgl.user2window(x, y, z, projection = proj) :

NA/NaN/Inf in foreign function call (arg 5)

I tried this with the latest version of geomorph in R, Rstudio and both in Windows and linux; and it keeps happening. It even happens with the scallops sample surface.

¿Can anyone please help me?

Thank you in advance

Carlos
