CS is defined as you note and varies from configuration to configuration
within a sample depending upon the "size" of the specimen (quotes since
this size may reflect actual physical size or unscaled camera
magnification).
During the Procrustes superimposition, configurations of points are
scaled (coords/CS) so that they all have CS=1 (= are the same size)
after Procrustes.
