Velhagen, WA & VL Roth 1997.  Scaling of the mandible in squirrels.
J.Morphol. 232:107-132.

defined landmarks on mandible geometically, using median axis and
inscribed circles on 2D silhouette.  Landmarks defined in this way
showed high repeatability and allowed us more thorough sampling of the
shape.
