Some corrections/clarifications of my post yesterday for the general
reader:

a) I should have said "Your algae ARE quite nice looking." or "Your ALGA
is quite nice looking."

b) The definitive reference for geometric morphometric asymmetry
analysis is:

Mardia, Bookstein, and Moreton. 2000. Statistical assessment of
bilateral symmetry of shapes. Biometrika 87:285-300.

Yes, it says bilateral symmetry, but the logic and procedures defined
therein need only be modified to account for the two planes of symmetry
as discussed previously.
