I have successfully used the "Saving Beauty" lesson, but I used a 
different article.  We were studying fossil fuels in science, and I 
found an article in Time about an oil tycoon who was searching for 
oil off the coast of Africa.  I explained to the students that I 
wanted to read the article in order to learn more about what I was 
teaching them. This sparked their interest.  They understood that I 
was reading with purpose, yet I still had difficulty.  They loved the 
lesson.  They especially like reminding me of the strategies I should 
use to help myself.
