For my Lit Stations (primarily primary) I use Debbie Diller's Literacy Work
Stations and Chapter 8 of Apprenticeship in Literacy by Linda Dorn. I also
surf the net to find great resources for Lit centers. I'm always thinking of
how I can take what I just taught whole group or small group, and turn it into
a center. For instance, we use the Bear & Templeton Word Sorting books for our
spelling/phonics. Once we have sorted those as a class, then they go into the
word sorting/building center. I want the activities in Lit Centers to support
what I'm teaching, giving students indepedent practice and the opportunity to
transfer new learing.
Most of my strategy instruction comes from Debbie Miller's Reading with
Meaning and Linda Dorn's Teaching for Deep Comprehension. Both are excellent
resources for primary comprehension instruction. The Happy Reading video's
that go with the Reading for Meaning book are excellent too!
  Hope this is helpful!

  Cindy,

The very best resources that I've found for literacy centers are Debbie
Diller's books. They are very teacher-friendly and well worth the
investment.

For primary: Literacy Work Stations: Making Centers Work (Paperback) by
Debbie Diller (Author)

For 3-6: Practice With Purpose: Literacy Work stations for Grades 3-6
(Paperback) by Debbie Diller (Author)
