Try using some of the fiction and nonfiction reading a-z books that are not decoable. They might be able to use more reading strategies and find the books more enjoyable too. Download several and let the children choose. Groups can be formed around the choices.
The longer you teach the more books you will add to your classroom library. I go to public library booksales, by Half Price books, and buy like new USED books from Amazon that have library bindings. Also I have inherited books from retired teachers. :>) If possible, buy one wonderful book per paycheck. You won't regret it.
