Hi Ellin!
Thank you for sharing your work with us! I feel uplifted to know that you
read our posts; the fact that you consider our comments and findings to inform
your scholarship and writing validates the importance of this forum. I know I
have become a much better teacher because of your book, but I couldn't have
done it without the wealth of experience and knowledge offered by the members
of this group.
I also share your hesitancy about sending these home to parents, but have
found that parents really appreciate anything we can tell them to help them
help their children. So far I haven't had anyone go overboard with their child.
I credit the suggestions from The Seven Keys to Comprehension with helping a
parent work with a child in my classroom finally make the connection between
the text on the page and the meaning within. Along with the MOT instruction in
class, the partnership forged with his parents made it happen.
Thanks for keeping us abreast with the release of your new work. I plan to be
online the day it is available so I can be one of the first to get a copy!
Sincerely,
Joy/NC/4
