Yes, it is for K-8.  It is a rather large book, but it truly gives examples
for all those grade levels, and they address the nuts and bolts of how to go
beyond MSV and Comp.

They address Collecting Evidence of Literacy Processing in whole group,
individual, and small group;
The also address Processing Written text by Thinking Within the Text; Beyond
the Text, and About the text.

So all of these questions posed in this string of thought are addressed in
this book
