Yes, this is what I do, as well. Plus, I emphasize that rereading a book is a 
good thing. Along with other teachers using the same book, we have many new 
students transfer in each year, and invariably they have already read something 
at their previous school. This is usually how we first broach the topic.
   
  I think teaching students rereading as a strategy to improve and expand their 
understanding is important.
