In my district we are using Fast Track by the Wright Group, and most of the
teachers I've talked to don't like it. It is not a balanced program. It
is heavy in phonics. By the 6th and 7th grade, that is totally
inappropriate. These kids have been phontificated to death by this age.
The program itself is badly organized and laid out in many pieces. There is
next to no writing component.

This is directly from their site.

Fast Track Reading is an intervention program for delayed readers in grades
4 through 8 who are reading at least two years below grade level. This
comprehensive and intensive program is based on current research into
theoretical models of reading, instructional design and methodologies, and
the needs of delayed readers.
