Bank Street College of Ed . Bookstore has some great resources on this
topic. Also, there is a tenement museum in NYC which provides resources
and some interesting living history presentations about immigration.
They may be able to direct you to local resources that you may be able
to use.

Subject: [MOSAIC] comprehension text set

Hello everyone! I am creating a text set to teach comprehension
strategies, and I want to use the topic of immigration or government
because there are so many different text to use with those topics. I
am leaning toward immigration, but I would love to hear any
suggestions on books, websites, newspaper articles or approaches on
teaching the strategies through the use of these type of texts. I
would love to use Esperanza Rising as a read aloud for imagery. I am
thinking of creating this for fifth or sixth grade. In addition to
teaching comprehension strategies through mini lessons there will be
some composing lessons as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Amy
