Although it is not the highest quality of writing, the Magic Treehouse NON-FICTION paired books can be great in my opinion because you can pair a fiction and non-fiction book together. My kids like the ones that I have. Gail Gibbons is wonderful for 2nd grade, but she does not use as many non-fcition concepts about print as some other authors.
