We use DIBELS as a screener in our board and it is very common to see a drop in PSF. This is one of those tasks where more is NOT better and that is stressed at the DIBELS training. The benchmark is 35 and when a students is able to hear and segment 35 sounds a second that skill is established. As long as they do not drop below 35 students are fine. They begin to use other skills as they develop as readers. Caroline Vien Literacy/Intervention Lead
