Pam,
I am in North Carolina, as well, and totally agree with you about the Reading
Conference. I wish I could go, but last year (and this next year) it is being
held when my students take the NC Writing Assessment!

If I wanted to create an IRI, where would I find the guidelines? Do you know
of any resources from DPI that address upper elementary goals and objectives? I
used the Primary assessment when I taught second grade, but feel left out in
the cold now that I teach fourth grade!

  Thanks!

An IRI is an independent reading inventory, which can be purchased OR teacher
made (following IRI guidelines).
