Angela,
This is the same situation as I was in when I used discussion  
boards.  We had a access to Gaggle, a free email service for  
students. I set up a classroom and then assigned them the discussion  
board.  This is part of the services in gaggle.  If you are looking

There are some good ideas found here.  I am no longer in the program,  
but my school is an EDGE school and I will probably head back to it  
in the next year or so.  I was one of the pilot classrooms for the  
District and I started it in 4th.  It is a great age to do the one to  
one with!! You will love it!
