Rosie,
You are exactly right about this, and it's one of the reasons I think 
we need to be very wary of taking test scores seriously, at least in 
how they are categorized. The reading is not authentic, the test 
questions are often confusing in their design to trick students, and 
the writing questions are particularly odious.
