You know I understand what you mean about the research. However, I'm
wondering . . . I've only taught 7 years and I've read lots about reading
comprehension that was from the research . . . was there research like this
say . . 10 years ago? I know at my school we've teachers who have taught 20 -
25 years and they've always taught the same way but now since the research has
come out they seem to be changing their ways (slowly but they are changing).

Research. Of course, as Richard Allington points out, research in education
is imperfect because of the nature of the beast.
