I read an article recently that was put out by several
researchers at Harvard.  I don't recall the specifics
but generally it looked at kids who had been retained
and those who should have been retained and were not
and then followed them through high school.  It was
not a paper that took a stance on retention but
reflected on the effects of retention/no retention.

I've been searching for the article/book but have had
no luck!!!
