Hi Kim,
Me again. :-)
I agree with Felicia. I JUST got my first batch of the National Geographic
Explorer magazine and I'm going to be using it with my 5th graders next
week. The magazine is GREAT, loaded with beautiful pictures and interesting
articles, and I think the kids are going to love it. They do a great job of
INCORPORATING READING STRATEGIES with each article as well as providing a
traditional "fill in the bubble" worksheet if you need for test prep. If I
remember correctly, there are four articles in each edition. It comes once a
month and costs about the same as the other weekly magazines you are
considering.

PS I found a couple more things to send you. Hope you have a productive day
and enjoy a day of rest and worship on Sunday!

Kimberly,

National Geographic for Kids has a great magazine called Explorer. There's
a lot of content to it especially for the strategies. You might want to
take a look at it.

This is the link to the teacher question page. Take a look at it. I think
you'll like it. I teach first and get the young explorer edition. My PTO
pays for the subscription.
