Hi Felecia, I hope it isn't too late for this to help. I think you have a good plan for your program. However, if this is the first time your colleagues have ever heard of the comprehension strategies and gradual release model, it may be a lot for an hour presentation. If this is brand new to them, then you may want to consider eliminating the nonfiction think aloud in order to allow for more time for questions at the end. It is a lot of information to process at one time if one has never been exposed to these ideas. I love your thoughts to explain the need for comprehension instruction, and I think modeling is essential. Good luck! Maura 5/NJ
