Debate has raged about Accelerated Reading and I am not trying to start any of that back up. But their program does advocate time for reading in the classroom and I believe they have done some research to generate the positive effect of reading improvement when time is allocated for reading at school. Their program is Reading Renaissance and they may hsve some research on their website.
