I tried another great idea from Tanny's book. I used foam core to create a
large thought bubble and then cut a hole in the center big enough to stick your
head through. I read aloud from the Mo Willem's book Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog
and had the kids tell what they were thinking by sticking their heads in the
thought bubble. It worked great with fourth grade strugglers...they love the
Pigeon books and their humor and the minimal text was a great confidence
builder.
