Hi, Well, each phonics lesson is linked to one or two poems, you can use the poem as a shared reading and then the students really enjoy using highlighter tape or wikki sticks to highlight examples of what we have been working on. About a week or two ago we were working on compound words, so they had to locate compound words in the poem. I place a copy of all the poems we have shared in a binder in our class library and students practice reading them during independent reading. I hope that makes sense! :) _________________________________________________________________ Help yourself to FREE treats served up daily at the Messenger Café.
