Beverly: The Arkansas model I'm familiar with is the Arkansas Comprehensive Literacy Model, spearheaded by Dr. Linda Dorn. The website is: www.arliteracymodel.com In addition to lots of great teacher resources, a discussion board, and lots of great research information, Dorn and several cohorts have written support texts. I'm familiar with the 3 listed below: Dorn, L.J., French, C., Jones, T. (1998). Apprenticeship in literacy: transitions across reading and writing. Portland: Stenhouse. Dorn, L.J., & Soffos, C. (2001). Shaping Literate Minds: Developing self-regulated Learners. Portland: Stenhouse. Dorn, L.J., & Soffos, C. (2001). Scaffolding young writers: A writers' workshop approach. Portland: Stenhouse You do have to 'surf' the site a bit to get a full understanding of how much they share for free! Hope this is what you were looking for. pam - AZ > > _______________________________________________ Mosaic mailing list [email protected] To unsubscribe or modify your membership please go to http://literacyworkshop.org/mailman/options/mosaic_literacyworkshop.org.
