Elizabeth Gilbert spoke so sincerely when she appeared 2x on Oprah this
Fall. She is the author of Eat, Pray, Love.
I would strongly encourage everyone to read this book if they have not
already done so. At the end of the show, Oprah asked her how she stays
so positive when bad things happen... her response was..."Every night as
I lie in bed, I say thank you for 2 things that I am grateful for and
then I think of 1 single, specific moment that was the best moment of
the day..."
For example, last night, I said, "Thank you for my 4 healthy, beautiful
children." "Thank you that I am going to be a grandmother."
The best moment of the day was when we walked down to the Community
Gardens and the kids got to see tomatoes and green peppers and chile
peppers actually growing on the vine. The look on their faces was
priceless!
