Very formulaic - with a few good ideas thrown in. It is good for kids who struggle with organization and need a lot of structure. Mostly expository writing with lots of emphasis on keeping to a formula/pattern. These pieces would never meet the needs of a writing portfolio. There is very little emphasis on voice or word choice.
