just wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions. It's so nice just to get
support and hearing that I'm not the only one out there with this problem.
i do meet with guided reading groups but probably haven't been meeting with
the struggling readers as often as I should. Will definitely step that up.
Boy...it's such a big jump from a 4 to an 18 (end of the year goal) but
hopefully, I'll see some progress soon. I do know from experience that once it
clicks, first graders can make a huge jump. Unfortunately, the state says
they
have to make a big jump now and not everyone is ready yet.
