Our building has all different kinds of use. We are Reading First and
that has helped to put computers in the classroom. The use of the
computers depends on the teacher and the comfort zone. We have 1
district person, who is wonderful but limited to what she can do in a
day. She takes care of the server, computers, hardware, etc. which
leaves little time to teach. We have Promethean boards that travel
and one room with a mounted board. Few teachers use it - lack of time
to make lessons and inexperience too - which is a problem. Next year
we will add ten boards mounted in rooms (YEAH - I get one), so people
will have to learn it. Our district is setting new goals in
technology. In addition, we have a computer lab where we go for 40
minutes once a week. I use technology all the time - there are so
many ways to use it in reading.

Hope this helps,
Linda
